Wood Works Flooring

Wood works flooring a sound proofing solution

The Problem:

Loud noise penetrates from below, and you are disturbing your neighbours below

The Solution:

Install an acoustic insulation between the joists underneath the existing floor. Replace floor, and install a heavy duty 15mm acoustic foam and rubber matt, followed by asystem of ply-wood and pre-varnished engineered flooring. This combination will dramatically improve airborne noise and impact decibel readings.

In total, the finished floor height will be 40mm above the existing height of original floor boards. Minus the thickness of a carpet and underlay - approximately 25 mm, then the overall finished floor height increase will be 15 mm.

This product and system meets any leasehold or freehold contract agreement.  Manufacturers' tests show that matting alone meets government legislation and Buildings and Regulation Part E.

The benefits of this system are that insulation impacts airborne noise flowing between floors (i.e. TV noise and loud talking) while the rubber matting and flooring improves impact noise (i.e. walking and music vibrations).  One key economical benefit of the wood flooring is that lifespan is twice that of the an average carpet; since it can be re-sanded and varnished up to 3 times, the floor lasts up to 5 times longer than any carpet.

With a choice of oak, walnut, cherry and ash flooring, this is a true property investment.

Called Eco Flooring, it is made from a farmed sustainable souce that meets FSC standards (and also minimises the carpet that ends up in landfill).

All inclusive cost of £135 per sq m (minimum charges do apply).
